The results of the assessment of effective forestry in the regions have been published
At the "Forests of Russia" forum in Nizhny Novgorod, Ivan Sovetnikov, head of the Federal Forestry Agency (Rosleskhoz), presented the results of an assessment of the implementation of delegated powers in the constituent entities of the Russian Federation for 2024.
According to the results, the most effective regions were the Amur, Astrakhan, Vladimir, and Chelyabinsk regions, Kamchatka Krai, Tatarstan, Komi, Kabardino-Balkaria, and the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug. These regions have organized forest monitoring at a high level, fulfilled timber harvesting plans and collected payments from forest leaseholders, and are conducting large-scale reforestation work.
Since 2024, an updated assessment methodology has been applied, making the system more objective. Thanks to this, regions that previously had difficulty achieving high scores due to their natural and climatic conditions have entered the list of leaders for the first time.
The Kurgan, Ryazan, Samara, and Kostroma regions, the Krasnodar and Khabarovsk territories, the Nenets Autonomous Okrug, Tyva, and Chuvashia were among the outsiders in the rating. They will need to analyze their shortcomings and take measures to improve their performance.
Detailed results are published on the official website of the Federal Forestry Agency.
