Results of 2024 on the labor market in the Russian forestry industry

Analysts from the job and employee search service HeadHunter summed up the results of 2024 in the labor market in the forest industry complex and shared a forecast for 2025.

The shortage of skilled workers and specialists in the manufacturing sector is forcing organizations to look for new ways to attract and retain employees. One of the key trends in 2024 was flexible working hours, which were offered by two-thirds of the surveyed companies. In addition, 61% of organizations improved working conditions for valuable employees, and 59% increased their salaries.

HeadHunter analysts recorded the following trends in the labor market in the forest industry complex:

  • A 6% increase in the number of vacancies — more than 53 thousand ads per year.
  • The leaders in the number of vacancies were Moscow, the Moscow region and St. Petersburg (33% of the total).
  • The most significant growth in demand for workers was noted in the Irkutsk region (+64%), the Komi Republic and the Voronezh region (+46%), Perm Krai (+44%).
  • In-demand specialties: client managers, drivers, production line operators, accountants, general workers, engineers, storekeepers.
  • The largest growth in demand among professions: electronic engineers (+119%), quality control inspectors (+40%), general workers (+37%), production line operators (+35%), fitters (+28%), mechanics (+27%).
  • The average offered salary increased by 18% and amounted to 76 thousand rubles.

HeadHunter analysts predict that in 2025 the main trends in the forestry industry will be the development of the HR brand, increasing labor productivity, supporting internal mobility and working with young people.
