The roadmap for the development of the forest industry has been finalized

The final version of the roadmap for the development of the forest industry and related industries for 2023–2025 has been approved. The document developed as a result of the strategic session on November 22–23 and December 2, 2022 will be used in the further work of the Council for the Development of the Forest Complex under the Federation Council of the Russian Federation.

When forming the concept of the strategic session, its organizer, ANO Center for Assistance to the Development of the Green Economy "Ecological Integrator", proceeded from the task of looking at the problems of the forest industry precisely at its junction with other sectors of the economy.

Andrey Goncharov, First Vice President of the Russian Forest Association: “The timber and timber processing industry is one of the most promising areas that, in the current foreign policy situation, requires an updated development plan. For this reason, now it is necessary to develop a structured, understandable and accepted by all interested parties strategy for interaction and development”.

Alexander Peshnyak, Director of Ecological Integrator: "Participation in the event of representatives of stakeholders from various spheres of government and business working with the forest industry created a favorable basis for making informed decisions".

Aleksey Mayorov, First Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council Committee on Agrarian Food Policy and Environmental Management: “Among the issues that the session participants included in the roadmap are logistical problems, the need to develop transport corridors and export promotion. It is also necessary to solve the existing problem of unreasonable overestimation of the volume of transportation of timber products planned by the consignor, not confirmed by the cargo base”.

Representatives of the Accounts Chamber of the Russian Federation, ministries and departments, the Russian Academy of Sciences, the largest transport and logistics companies, the timber industry, the financial and credit system, and oil and gas enterprises took part in the development of the roadmap.
