In seven months of 2024, ten investment projects have been agreed upon for the development of the forestry industry
Based on the results of seven months of 2024, the Rosleskhoz commission on priority investment projects for the development of forestry complex approved ten applications for the implementation of such projects. The approved applications are aimed at creating new and modernizing existing timber processing facilities. For the implementation of investment projects, it is planned to provide forest areas with an annual volume of timber harvesting of about 14 million m3.
Alexei Abramov, head of the Federal State Forestry Supervision Department of Rosleskhoz: “Over seven months of this year, the Rosleskhoz commission reviewed 17 applications, ten of them were approved, the rest were sent for revision. The implementation of approved investment projects involves the production of lumber and OSB boards, increasing the volume of production of paper products.".
Among the approved applications:
- eight investment projects to modernize timber processing facilities in the Irkutsk, Nizhny Novgorod and Tver regions, the Republic of Karelia, and the Krasnoyarsk Territory;
- two investment projects aimed at creating new sawmills and panel production in the Arkhangelsk region and Krasnoyarsk region.
We would like to remind you that from September 1, 2023, Rosleskhoz provides forest plots for investment projects, and also conducts state examination of forest development projects within the framework of investment projects. In total, since the beginning of 2024, the department has issued 188 positive decisions on passing the state examination of forest development projects. Rosleskhoz has concluded 22 lease agreements for forest plots with an annual volume of 1.7 million m3.
Based on the results of last year, Rosleskhoz approved 27 priority investment projects for the development of the forestry industry with an annual volume of timber harvesting of about 14.5 million m3.
