All-Russian Forest Restoration Forum in Krasnoyarsk: Main Points

Last week, the 1st All-Russian Forest Restoration Forum was held in Krasnoyarsk - a platform that brought together more than 200 participants from all over the country. Representatives of regulatory and legislative bodies, forestries and nurseries, industry and the scientific community discussed key challenges and proposals for improving the industry.

The main objective of the forum was to unite the professional community to exchange experiences, discuss current issues and develop proposals for changing legislation. The focus was on innovative technologies - from the use of IT solutions and unmanned systems to new approaches to monitoring forest resources. Much attention was paid to regional practices for growing planting material, soil preparation and agricultural technology, as well as improving the regulatory framework and prospects for further development of forest restoration.

Alexey Bolshakov, First Deputy Minister of Natural Resources and Forestry of the Krasnoyarsk Territory: “Professionals in their field met at the forum. One of the main objectives of the event is to develop a kind of quality mark, a unified strategy for performing forest restoration work: from seed procurement to the transfer of land to forest areas in compliance with all standards.".

The forum participants noted the need to implement new solutions. Thus, the use of unmanned aircraft helps to quickly obtain data on the state of the state forest fund in hard-to-reach areas. In the scientific part of the program, Krasnoyarsk developers presented a domestic complex of equipment for precision seeding with a closed root system - the result of the work of the Institute of Forest Technologies of the Siberian State University named after Academician Reshetnev.
