  • By decision of the President of Russia, an additional 24 billion rubles will be allocated for increasing salaries of forest industry workers over six years from next year.

  • Financing for the updated federal project "Forest Preservation" for the period from 2025 to 2030 will be increased from RUB 41.1 billion to RUB 71.1 billion.
  • This year, as last year, 1.4 million hectares of forests will be restored in Russia. Already, 28 regions have exceeded their targets and planted more trees than were destroyed or died. At the moment, the work has been carried out on the territory of 756 thousand hectares, which is 52% of the plan.

The Russian Timber Association presented its report at the round table "Interaction of the state and business in investment activities for the development of the forestry complex".

Andrey Goncharov, First Vice President of the Russian Timber Association: "Despite external restrictions, we see a real opportunity to increase the investment attractiveness of the forestry complex of Russia. One of the key steps could be to amend Resolution No. 190 of 2018, which we presented at the round table for discussion. These changes will allow for the inclusion in capital expenditures of machinery and equipment that were previously used in production in Russia, but for various reasons are not currently in operation. This will give a new impetus to the development of the industry and attracting investment".
