The IX Eastern Economic Forum is being held in Vladivostok from September 3 to 6. About 100 events are planned within its framework, in which more than 6,000 people from 76 countries are taking part, including over 650 heads of Russian companies and 44 foreign ones. The main theme of the forum is "Far East - 2030. Let's join efforts, creating opportunities."
The main topic of discussion at the EEF was the issue of infrastructure development, including the construction of railways in the Far East. Vladimir Putin began his work at the forum with an inspection of the site where a shipyard specializing in the merchant marine fleet will be built. This project is being implemented by VTB and the United Shipbuilding Corporation (USC).
Wooden housing construction, which is one of the priority areas for further growth of the forestry complex of the Far East, was also discussed on the sidelines of the EEF. Tourism is actively developing in the region, and in most tourism projects, wood is the main material for construction. In addition, the Far Eastern Federal District is seeing an increase in individual housing construction.
A cooperation agreement was signed between the Far East and Arctic Development Corporation (FEDC) and the Wooden Housing Association (WHA). The parties agreed to develop the "Far Easterner's House" project in Khabarovsk Krai. Within the framework of this project, the production of prefabricated houses for individual housing construction will be opened.
Artur Khafizov, member of the board of the Wooden Housing Association: “The Wooden Housing Association is ready to help in the implementation of this process. Russia has vast experience in the production, research, testing and application of wooden structures. I hope that in the near future, thanks to our joint projects, entire clusters of new production facilities will appear in the Far East, and after them - neighborhoods of modern, reliable, earthquake-resistant houses, tourist complexes, community centers, sports facilities, schools, kindergartens and even airports - all this can be created today from wood processed industrially”.
The EEF plays an important role in attracting investment to Russia, accelerating the socio-economic development of the Far East and improving relations with the countries of this region.
