The Federation Council intends to seek an increase in the salaries of timber industry specialists
The Federation Council Committee on Agricultural and Food Policy and Environmental Management will seek the allocation of additional funding from the federal budget for the coming years. The funds will be used to increase wages for specialists in the field of forestry, meteorology and environmental protection.
Alexander Dvoinykh, head of the Federation Council committee on agrarian and food policy and environmental management: “The minimum increase in funding in this area from 2025 to 2030 should be 54 billion rubles, which must be allocated to increase the salaries of workers working in the areas forestry, meteorology, environmental protection. We believe that the level of wages for forest industry employees should not be lower than the regional average. It is important that in the future there will be appropriate indexation of their wages. As part of the budget process, the committee will continue its work to increase funding for this area.".
The head of the committee emphasized that this is not the first time his organization has drawn the attention of the authorities to the problem of low wages in the industry. Now the committee’s task is to monitor the implementation of the relevant instructions of the President of Russia.
Earlier this year, the President of the Russian Federation, in his annual address to the Federal Assembly, made a separate decision to increase the salaries of employees who work in forestry, meteorology and environmental protection - specialists dealing with the most important issues of environmental well-being.
