The Arctic University will open a leading competence center in the forestry sector
Northern (Arctic) Federal University (NArFU) has announced plans to create a leading competence center in the forestry industry. The new alliance of universities will unite the best educational and scientific practices for training specialists and developing technologies in the forestry industry.
Acting Rector of NArFU Pavel Maryandyshev emphasized the systemic nature of the university's cooperation with industry enterprises. For example, educational programs that take into account the specifics of the company are being implemented jointly with the Arkhangelsk Pulp and Paper Mill.
Particular attention is paid to the flexibility of educational programs: universities adapt training to the needs of enterprises and students, including programs for working specialists. This allows obtaining higher education without interrupting work.
In parallel, work is underway to develop scientific infrastructure in Arkhangelsk, including the center for the collective use of scientific equipment "Arktika" and the student design bureau of the NArFU technopark, where innovations for the forestry industry complex are actively developed.
The creation of the main competence center will be an important step in the integration of science, education and business. Its goal is not only to train highly qualified personnel, but also to launch the advanced engineering school "KhimLesTekh", which will unite educational and scientific programs for the forestry industry complex.
