The national project “Ecological Well-Being” will start in 2025

Next year a new national project will be launched in our country - “Ecological Well-Being”. Its goal is to create and improve forest nurseries. Particular attention will be paid to the care of forest plantations and more active use of modern materials in forest management.

Ivan Sovetnikov, head of Rosleskhoz: “Of course, the extension of the federal project “Forest Conservation” will have a positive impact on both the protection of forests from fires and their restoration. At the same time, this will make it possible to modernize existing forest nurseries and create new ones throughout the country. We will pay special attention to increasing the number of seedlings grown from seeds with improved characteristics.".

Ivan Sovetnikov also noted that, on behalf of the President of the Russian Federation, forest belts with an area of ​​at least 2 thousand hectares will be created around cities and industrial centers. The experience of implementing this mechanism will be taken into account when developing a new national project, which will ultimately improve the quality of environmental protection.

In addition, the updated federal project “Forest Conservation” includes agricultural care for planted forest crops. This directly affects the survival rate of young trees, especially in regions with harsh climates.

As part of the implementation of the extended federal project, the renewal of the fleet of forest fire and forestry machinery and equipment in the regions of our country will continue. Additional ground-based video surveillance systems will also be purchased and a new forest fire center will be created in the Far East.
