Vladimir Ponomarev tragically passed away

The National Association of Timber Industry “Russian Forest” regrets to announce that at the age of 49, our friend and colleague, vice-president of the association “Russian Forest” Vladimir Ponomarev, tragically passed away.

Vladimir Leonidovich devoted more than 25 years of his life to working in the forestry industry of the Krasnoyarsk Territory. He began his career back in 1999 as a forester at the Ungut forestry. In 2000, immediately after graduating from the Siberian State Technological University with a degree in Forestry and Forestry Engineer, Vladimir Leonidovich became the chief forester of the Federal State Institution "Mansky Forestry", since 2003 he headed the Federal State Institution "Novoselovsky Forestry", and since 2007 he has served as deputy head of the agency forestry in the Krasnoyarsk Territory, Taimyr (Dolgano-Nenets) and Evenki Autonomous Okrugs.

From 2007 to 2010, Vladimir Leonidovich worked as head of the forestry department of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry of the Krasnoyarsk Territory. From 2010 to 2012, he was the head of the Krasnoyarsk Forest Management State Industrial Complex and held other senior positions in large forestry enterprises of the Krasnoyarsk Territory.

In 2019, Vladimir Ponomarev began working at the National Association of Timber Industry “Russian Forest” and in 2021 took the position of vice-president of the Association. As part of his work, he dealt with issues of forestry, responsible use of forest resources, and also conducted an economic assessment of the forest fund in order to determine its feasibility for economic activity. He also actively worked on proposals to amend the current legislation regulating relations in the forestry industry.

His high professionalism and dedication to the forestry industry are recognized both in the Krasnoyarsk Territory and in many regions of Russia.

Vladimir Leonidovich was the father of four children, two of whom were minors.
