Rosleskhoz summed up forestry results for 2025.

At the end of the year, Rosleskhoz traditionally sums up the results, assessing key achievements and changes in the forestry sector. 2025 marked the next stage of systematic work to preserve and rationally use the country's forest resources.

Forest restoration

In 2025, the area of reforestation amounted to 1.3 million hectares, which is 308.9 thousand hectares more than the area of felled and dead forests. Thus, for the fifth year in a row, more forests are being restored in Russia than are being lost.

The Sakha Republic (Yakutia), Krasnoyarsk Krai, and Irkutsk, Arkhangelsk, and Vologda Oblasts were the leaders in terms of reforestation volumes. Public initiatives also made a significant contribution: as part of the "Garden of Memory" and "Save the Forest" campaigns, More than 100 million trees have been planted across the country, and over 1.5 million people have participated in the events.

Investments in the Forestry Complex

During the year, 18 new investment projects aimed at creating and modernizing timber processing facilities were approved. Forest plots with an annual harvesting volume of approximately 22.9 million cubic meters of timber are planned for their implementation. A total of 55 investment projects are being implemented in Russia, the largest number of which are concentrated in the Siberian and Northwestern Federal Districts.

Electronic Services

Since January 1, 2025, all forestry government services have been provided through the Federal State Information System (FGIS LC). Over the past year, approximately 5 million services have been provided through the system, and the average time for their provision has decreased from nine to three days. The most popular service has become an extract from the state forest register - More than 3.8 million requests, while the response time has been reduced to 16 hours.

The results for 2025 demonstrate sustainable development in the industry, increased forest management efficiency, and a consistent transition to digital tools that make forestry more transparent and accessible.
