The government approved a new strategy for the socio-economic development of the Siberian Federal District until 2035

Siberia has a new strategy for socio-economic development until 2035. More than 500 thousand new jobs will be created in the regions of the Siberian Federal District (SFD) and more than 16 trillion rubles will be attracted. investment.

To attract private investment, a cluster approach will be used - the Russian Forest Association has repeatedly made such a proposal within the framework of the National Forest Forum. The strategy provides for the formation and development of clusters in the following areas: "Forest, timber processing and wood chemistry", "Aluminum processing", "Precious metals", "Non-ferrous and rare earth metals", "Tourism", "Agriculture and food industry", "Oil and gas, coal. This format will create conditions for increasing the competitiveness of the regional economy, ensure sustainable economic growth, and improve the level and quality of life of the population.

The implementation of the strategy involves three stages:

  • 1st stage (2023 - 2025): implementation of the most developed investment and infrastructure projects that are at a high stage of readiness;
  • 2nd stage (2026 - 2030): transformation of the socio-economic development of the Siberian Federal District;
  • 3rd stage (2031 - 2035): transformation of the economies of the regions of the Siberian Federal District - reaching a higher level of self-sufficiency, reducing the share of budget investments in investment projects.

It is expected that the clusters will reach their design capacity from 2026, their full deployment is scheduled for 2030-2035.
