Plywood exports to grow by 5% by 2024

According to the results of 2024, plywood exports from the Russian Federation increased by 5% and amounted to 1.7 million m3. The main buyers were China, Egypt, the USA, South Korea and Turkey, which accounted for about half of all deliveries.
The average export price for Russian plywood in the ports of destination was in the range of $450-500 per 1 m3. In monetary terms, the volume of deliveries amounted to $765-850 million. For comparison: in 2021, plywood exports reached 3.04 million m3 at an average price of $637.5 per m3, and the total value of deliveries was $1.94 billion.
The growth in exports had a positive effect on production: plywood production in Russia in 2024 was 6-8% higher compared to 2023, reaching 3.5 million m3. In December, production increased by 6% compared to the same period last year and amounted to 287 thousand m3.
