The first all-Russian conference on FGIS LK in 2025

The head of the Federal Forestry Agency Ivan Sovetnikov held the first All-Russian meeting in 2025 with the subjects on the work of the Federal State Information System of the Forest Complex (FGIS LC). During the discussion, he emphasized that the mandatory use of the system will not be cancelled or revised, but noted that there were difficulties in the regions that did not start filling in the data in a timely manner.
Ivan Sovetnikov, head of the Federal Forestry Agency: “It is obvious that all materials uploaded to the FGIS LC cannot be ideal right away. And it is completely normal that for some time we will find errors, including registry errors. We were preparing for this. I would like to emphasize that we will continue to work on eliminating incorrect data throughout this year.”
Sovetnikov noted that entities that began working with the system in advance, including checking the transferred data (block networks, forest plots, title documents), switched to using FGIS LC without serious problems.
Letters will be sent to the heads of regions where work with the system is not being carried out actively enough, which will focus on the following issues:
- strengthen checking the data uploaded to FGIS LC for correctness;
- complete the entry of retrospective information;
- check the characteristics of felling areas, plots, special protection zones and permitted types of use;
- make corrections to the registry data if necessary.
In addition, Rosleskhoz and the Federation Council agreed to hold targeted meetings with regions and testing relevant ministers on their knowledge of the FGIS LK.
Earlier, the Association "Russian Timber" and "OPORA RUSSIA" have already stated the difficulties faced by enterprises, especially representatives of small and medium-sized businesses, which account for about 50% of timber harvesting.
The Association "Russian Forest" continues its dialogue with the government and business, monitors the situation and achieves solutions that allow enterprises to adapt to the new operating conditions of the FGIS LK.
