Объем инвестиций в лесопромышленный комплекс Сибири превысил 440 млрд руб.

The forestry complex of the Siberian Federal District maintains its leading position: today, about a third of all timber in the country is harvested here. Almost 1,500 forestry enterprises operate in the region, and about 30 priority projects for the creation and modernization of processing facilities are already being implemented.

During a working visit to Omsk Oblast, Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Dmitry Patrushev reported that the total investment in the forestry complex of the district exceeded 440 billion rubles. The meeting, which was held with the participation of the Plenipotentiary Representative of the President of the Russian Federation Anatoly Seryshev and the heads of the regions of the Siberian Federal District, discussed the progress of the implementation of the government strategy for the development of the district until 2035.

Dmitry Patrushev, Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation: “About 2 trillion rubles have already been attracted for the activities to implement the government strategy for the development of the federal district until 2035, and more than 42 thousand jobs have been created within their framework. In the long term, the total investment volume should exceed 18 trillion rubles.".

Special attention is paid to issues of sustainable development of the forestry industry. Rosleskhoz is considering the possibility of launching a pilot project on forest management in the Irkutsk Region and Krasnoyarsk Krai - key regions in terms of timber harvesting volumes.
