National Project "Environmental Well-Being": Forestry Priorities until 2030

On February 11, at an extended meeting of the State Duma Committee on Ecology, Natural Resources, and Environmental Protection, the Ministry of Natural Resources presented a report on its work for 2025 and plans for 2026. The main topic of discussion was the implementation of the national project "Environmental Well-being" and related state programs.

Minister of Natural Resources Alexander Kozlov noted that the results achieved already allow him to positively assess the prospects for achieving the goals of the state programs "Forestry Development," "Environmental Protection," and "Reproduction and Use of Natural Resources."

Among the areas with sustained positive dynamics, the minister highlighted forestry: forest restoration, forest fire and flood control. The advancement of the regulatory framework also played a significant role: 13 federal laws and 62 regulatory legal acts were adopted in 2025.

According to the minister, despite difficulties in other federal projects, forestry is showing steady momentum and will enable effective management of forest resources, increasing their restoration and protection in the coming years.
