International Forestry Forum Forestry-2023 in Voronezh

October 13 at the Voronezh State Forestry University named after. G.F. Morozov hosted the International Forestry Forum Forestry-2023, dedicated to the 105th anniversary of the VSFLTU forestry school. The Russian Forest Association was represented at the forum by its first vice-president Andrey Goncharov, a graduate of this university.

Forum participants discussed issues of implementing forest climate projects and training personnel for low-carbon development of forestry in Russia. The event was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation, relevant departments, as well as leading scientists and experts from different regions of the country.

For more effective training of personnel, it is important to take into account the optimal areas of such training, taking into account the corresponding needs in the regions and consider the possibility of creating corporate universities together with universities and timber industry enterprises..

One of the key events of the forum is the planting of trees at the carbon fiber test site in the Voronezh region. This event completes the second phase of the implementation of the climate project in the field of forest relations between Sibur and VGFLTU. Thus, the area of tree plantations at the carbon test site in Voronezh is now more than 450 hectares.
