How did forestry exports develop in the first three months of 2025?

The first quarter of 2025 showed positive dynamics in the export of forestry products. Regions are increasing supply volumes, expanding their geographic presence, and strengthening business ties with international partners.

  • Vologda Oblast increased supplies to India by 57% - up to 10.5 thousand m3 against 6.7 thousand m3 a year earlier. In total, 285 thousand m3 of timber were exported from the region to 23 countries in the first three months - this is 13% more than in the same period in 2024 (251 thousand m3).
  • Perm Krai increased its export volume to Azerbaijan to 60.3 thousand m3. Compared with the same period last year, when 50.1 thousand m3 were shipped, the increase was 20%.
  • In January - March 2025, the Novgorod Region supplied 51.9 thousand m3 of timber to foreign markets. Deliveries were made to 13 countries, among which the main destinations were China (13.6 thousand m3), Korea (3.7 thousand m3) and Turkey (2.2 thousand m3).
  • Yugra continues to actively develop exports to China. In the first three months of this year, the volume of lumber deliveries amounted to 50.2 thousand m3 — This is 15.5% more than in the same period of 2024 (43.4 thousand m3).
  • The Udmurt Republic is showing rapid growth: timber exports have increased sevenfold. Since the beginning of the year, about 38 thousand m3 have been shipped to foreign partners, while in January - March last year the volume was only 5.5 thousand m3. All deliveries were made to Chinese customers.
  • Tyumen Oblast shipped 12 thousand m3 of timber products to foreign contractors. Compared to last year's figures (10.7 thousand m3), the growth was about 10%. The geography of deliveries covers eight countries, including Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, China, Afghanistan, Vietnam, India and Azerbaijan.
  • In January - March 2025, the Zabaikalsky Krai exported 7.8 thousand m3 of timber to China. In March alone, 4.1 thousand m3 of products were shipped outside the region.
