How did forestry exports develop in the first seven months of 2025?
The Export Digest section presents the main directions and indicators of forest industry exports for January - July 2025.
- In the Irkutsk Region and Buryatia, 3.2 million m3 of timber, mainly softwood lumber, were exported in January - July. China remains the main destination - 2.4 million m3 (75%), with Uzbekistan (467 thousand m3), Japan (112 thousand m3) and Tajikistan (108 thousand m3) also among the buyers.
- In the Krasnoyarsk Region, 2.2 million m3 of timber were exported in the first seven months of this year. Almost the entire volume (99%) was made up of sawn timber. The key market, as before, is China, which accounts for 77% of deliveries. In total, the region's products were delivered to 17 countries.
- In the Komi Republic, 942.5 thousand m3 of timber were delivered to international markets in January - July. The bulk of exports is sawn timber (918 thousand m3). Export geography: Egypt, China, India, the Republic of Korea, Turkey.
- In the Arkhangelsk Region, during the reporting period, the volume of deliveries to the domestic market amounted to about 908 thousand m3, which is 21% more than a year earlier (715 thousand m3). An additional 1.2 million coniferous seedlings were sold.
- In the Vologda Region, timber exports in January - July increased by 6% and amounted to 785 thousand m3. The main destinations were: China (532 thousand m3), Egypt (75 thousand m3), Uzbekistan and Turkey (35 thousand m3 each), India (29 thousand m3), Vietnam (21 thousand m3). At the same time, exports to Uzbekistan increased by 3.5 times, to Armenia - by 1.8 times, to Vietnam - by 1.5 times.
- In Tomsk Oblast, the volume of shipments amounted to 694 thousand m3, of which 692 thousand m3 were for export. The main destinations were: Uzbekistan (47% of shipments), China (19%), Kyrgyzstan (18%), Kazakhstan (10%), and Tajikistan (4%). Tomsk timber was also exported to Abkhazia, Afghanistan, and Vietnam.
- In Karelia, timber shipments to the domestic market reached 656 thousand m3, which is almost 40% more than a year earlier (401 thousand m3). The shipments were dominated by sawn timber, round timber, and process chips. Main recipients: Moscow, Ryazan, Yaroslavl, Murmansk and Novgorod regions, as well as St. Petersburg.
- In Tyumen region, Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug and Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug, 331 thousand m3 of coniferous and deciduous timber were exported in January - July. The main importers were China (42%), Uzbekistan (27%) and Kazakhstan (20%). Products were also shipped to Turkmenistan, India, Azerbaijan, Afghanistan, Kyrgyzstan, Iran, Vietnam and Turkey.
