Results of the St. Petersburg International Forestry Forum

Last week, a large-scale business event of the Russian forest industry complex took place in St. Petersburg — the XXVI St. Petersburg International Forest Industry Forum. Every year, this event brings together leading companies from all sectors of the forest industry, including representatives of the top 100 largest companies in Russia. This year, more than 450 delegates and 70 speakers took part in the forum.

Experts and industry representatives discussed key issues related to supporting entrepreneurship in the new economic conditions, equipment supplies, personnel and energy supply for enterprises.

The forum began with a plenary discussion "Russian forest industry complex: status, forecasts, trends", which was held by Nikolay Krotov, Deputy General Director for interaction with government agencies of the Arkhangelsk Pulp and Paper Mill.

Over the course of two days, participants in the business program attended nine events: sections, plenary discussions, round tables. The experts discussed important issues such as government regulation of timber turnover in 2024–2025, the introduction of new technologies in production processes, and energy supply for enterprises.

Particular attention was paid to discussing three key problems in the forest industry: the timing of priority projects, difficulties with payments and logistics in export activities, and industry lobbying systems.
