Boxing world champion Ruslan Provodnikov will attend a youth boxing tournament in the north of the Irkutsk region

March 23-25, the VIII Traditional Boxing Tournament for the prizes of the «Russian Forest» National Association of Timber Industry will be held in the village of New Igirma of the Irkutsk Region.

More than 100 young men and women will be able to test their strength, increase their sportsmanship and fulfill discharge standards. Champions and prize-winners will be determined in each age and weight category.

The tournament will be visited by Ruslan Provodnikov - curator of social initiatives of the «Russian Forest» Association, a public figure, a Russian professional boxer, and former WBO boxing world champion. As part of his visit, he will travel to the north of the Irkutsk region, where he will watch sports schools on the territory of several remote areas and hold autograph sessions.

It should be noted that the Russian Forest Association makes a special contribution to the development of sports and athletes in the north of the region, where, unlike the regional centers, the social and sports infrastructure is not so well developed: there are few modern sports complexes and alternatives for children's and youth leisure. Therefore, it is here, where support for the development of sports is particularly important, with the participation of the association, comprehensive events are being held - workout platforms are being opened, master classes and interdistrict competitions in various sports are held, and personal support is provided to prospective children. These and similar events have a positive effect on society, its priorities and life goals.
