1 million hectares of forest restoration work

Top regions for forest restoration this year:

• Sakha Republic (Yakutia) - 204.6 thousand hectares;
• Irkutsk Region - 181.8 thousand hectares;
• Krasnoyarsk Region - 160.4 thousand hectares;
• Vologda Region - 89.8 thousand hectares;
• Arkhangelsk Region - 76.7 thousand hectares.

Elena Busygina, Head of the Department of Forest Reproduction and Protection of the Federal Forestry Agency: “The forest cultivation season is coming to an end, but despite this, climatic conditions allow for forest restoration to continue in a number of Russian regions, for example in the southern regions. In addition, the acceptance of works on reforestation and afforestation continues. I would also like to remind you that for three years in a row, more forests have been restored in our country than are cut down or destroyed. This year, a number of entities not only coped with the implementation of reforestation measures, but also exceeded the plan by 100%."

Entities that exceeded the planned indicators for forest restoration: Saratov Region - 197.2%, Altai Krai - 143.2%, Astrakhan Region - 120.3%, Belgorod Region - 110.9%, Bryansk Region - 107.7%, Sakha Republic (Yakutia) - 107.5%, Chelyabinsk Region - 106.8%, Moscow Region - 106.6%, Primorsky Krai - 106.5%, Lipetsk Region - 105.5%, Novosibirsk Region - 105.2%, Vologda Region - 103.8%.
