Andrey Goncharov took part in the business program of the VI Championship of Russia «Woodcutter of the XXI century»

On August 11-14, 2021, the VI Russian Championship "Woodcutter of the XXI century" was held in the Arkhangelsk region - one of the most spectacular events in the industry. The Russian Forest Association was a partner of the championship. In parallel with the competition of the country's best forestry specialists, there was a business program for representatives of business and government. Vice-President of the Association Andrey Goncharov took part in a number of events.

The central theme was the strategy for the development of the forestry complex in Russia. It was discussed at an extraordinary visiting session of the Forestry Council under the Governor of the Arkhangelsk Region Alexander Tsybulsky and at a plenary session moderated by Nikolai Nikolayev, Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Natural Resources, Property and Land Relations.

«During the meetings, the issues of training personnel for the industry, increasing the prestige of forestry professions were considered. In addition, together with our partners, we discussed approaches to supporting small and medium-sized businesses, pricing for timber industry products, creating a network of forest roads, digitalizing forestry, introducing intensive forest management», — said Andrey Goncharov.

The proposals made at the plenary session will be presented at the next meeting of the Government Commission chaired by the Deputy Prime Minister of the RF Government Victoria Abramchenko.
