On October 12, 2017, the third meeting of the interdepartmental Working Group on the development of new approaches to the formation of fees for the use of forests, formed by the Federal Forestry Agency, took place.

At the meeting, representatives of the Ministry of Natural Resources of Russia, the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia, the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of Russia, the Ministry of Environmental Development of Russia, the Federal Antimonopoly Service of Russia, enterprises of the timber industry complex, scientific institutions subordinate to the Federal Forestry Agency.

The Vice President of Legal Issues, Dobrokhotov A., took part in the round table from the National Association of Timber Industry «Russian Forest».

During the third meeting, the Group reviewed the reports of the Director of the FBU VNIILM A.A. Martynyuk and the rector of the FAA VIPKLH A.P. Petrov, Head of the Department of Long-Term Planning and Forecasting in Forestry A.V. Chuev, who presented an analysis of data on rent-forming factors, on the actual cost of wood harvesting and removal, on the costs of forest conservation, protection and reproduction in this type of forest use like harvesting wood. Based on this analysis, the Federal Forestry Agency prepared proposals on approaches to changing the rates of payment for forest resources.
